On Saturday, June 2, 2018, Oliver residents, neighbors and friends put their heads and hearts together to build a communal style sectional seating made of recycled pallets, where neighbors can get together, socialize, have small meetings, or just enjoy the space. Kids and adults painted bottles for Ring Toss, and painted 2×4′ wood pieces for Jumbo Jenga for outdoor community games! Residents put the finishing touches on the beautiful Headboard/Footboard benches that Home Depot helped us to assemble. Although it was projected to rain out our service day, it stayed away and this was the result! A collective of concerned and enthusiastic residents and friends exhibiting community spirit while serving. Not only was it lots of fun, it demonstrated what can be accomplished when we work together. This is community! A special thanks goes to Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF), the Oliver Action Team (O.A.T.) and Oliver residents!
